Hi, Friends. I am Abdullah, a student of Five Senior High School (SMAN 5) Bandung.
SMAN 5 Bandung is one of prominent schools in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.
Most students come from other parts of the vast Indonesian archipelago like Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan even Papua.
I myself come from Palembang, South Sumatra. Palembang is famous for its typical food 'Empek-empek'.
Musi River divides the city into two halves, it is the longest river in Indonesia. Palembang is also famous for its bridge, called 'Ampera' Bridge.
This bridge could move up and down when there was a ship sailing down the river.
But now the bridge cannot function anymore so the local government has to make another harbor near the other side of bridge.
Tourists who come to Palembang always visit this bridge. From the bridge we can see a beautiful scenery of floating houses.
We can also rent the boat to take us a long the river.
The two pictures above were taken on the bridge at night. You can see how fantastic it is.
The picture was taken in front of statue of Sultan Badaruddin I.
Now, Palembang is the capital of South Sumatra Province which is led by a Major,
but for Palembang's people, they have local leader that is called Sultan Badaruddin IV.
Now, 'Kuda Lumping' and I are in the Museum of Sultan Badaruddin.
All historical treasures of Sultan Badaruddin I until Sultan Badaruddin III are exhibited here.
Beside that, traditional clothes which are used to wear for a traditional ceremony can be found in this museum.
Most tourists who come to Palembang always visit this museum.
This is the first and the oldest mosque in Palembang. This mosque has specific design of platform for Imam ( a person who leads the prayer)
and the place for Ma'mum (people who pray) is separated. The original platform is still used. It is renovated in some parts of it.
'Kuda Lumping' and I are in the gate of 'Ampera' bridge.
Please come to my home town, Palembang and taste 'Empek-Empek', our traditional food and visit the museum and 'Ampera' Bridge.
All of you are welcome. We are looking forward to your coming
